Healthy Pops From Home
Did you know that Americans spend nearly $20 billion on ice cream and other frozen desserts each year!? Especially during the summer, it’s hard to resist a cold treat in the blazing heat! The only problem is that many commercial frozen dessert brands can contain more than 25 grams of sugar in just one bar. The good news is that you can easily make healthy frozen pops. It’s time to ditch the sugar and indulge in your own frozen dessert recipes this season.
NLT: Try getting creative with the Zoku Quick Pop Maker. Using your favorite fruity combos you can make the perfect sweet treat in as little as 7 minutes. You can even purchase a character kit to make fun decorative pops with your kids. Store them in your freezer so the next time your sweet tooth strikes you know exactly what to do.
If you’re having trouble thinking of combinations, try one of my favorite recipes to get you started:
Frozen Fruit Twist
2 cups of Dannon Oikos Greek nonfat yogurt
½ cup fresh or thawed frozen blueberries
½ cup fresh or thawed frozen strawberries
1 Tbsp chia seeds
Blend ingredients together until mix reaches consistent texture. Fill molds approximately ¾ full. Freeze, serve, and enjoy!
