     Who is Keri?

 

 
 



We all know what it’s like to be so hungry that you’ll grab anything to much on…you simply don’t have the time or the energy to put together something healthy. Well, that’s exactly why KeriBars were developed in by Registered Dietitian Keri Glassman! She created them to help her clients maintain a healthy diet while leading a fast-paced life. And now you can enjoy them – with all the great taste and nutrition they deliver – too.

The snackers’ hall of shame
Keri discovered two categories among her nutrition-services clients: those who snacked poorly and those who didn’t snack at all. The first group often chose seemingly harmless foods such as pretzels or granola, but even snacks like these can be packed with empty calories, trans fats and artificial ingredients. Poor snacking affects blood sugar levels, heart health, energy, caloric intake and thus often leads to weight gain. That said, not snacking is also a common pitfall. Doing so disrupts energy levels, mood and blood sugar levels, which almost always results in overeating at the next meal. The result? You guessed it: weight gain.

Solving the snack problem
However, Keri knew that eating nutrient-dense snacks at the right times could change her clients’ lives for the better! Here’s why: A proper diet keeps your metabolism revved, energy levels and mood up, and your body healthy. A common problems that you don’t always have the time to prepare, sit down and eat a meal when your body calls. Keri knew what it took for a snack to be perfect – it needed to be portion-controlled (to keep your metabolism burning!) and contain enough fiber, protein and healthy fat to provide satiety, or fullness. In this way, it would hold you over to your next meal as well as give you the energy to go to the gym, work more efficiently or just get through a busy day of errand-running. In other words, improve your entire life!

How the bar was born
After searching far and wide for a “perfect” snack to recommend to her clients, and finding nothing, Keri decided to create the definitive snack food. She made a list of optimal ingredients, enlisted the kitchen expertise of her sister-in-law Samantha and created the first KeriBar. It took a bit of experimentation in Keri’s kitchen to get the recipe right – Keri studied other bars out there and what did and didn’t work; then she and her sister-in-law worked to find the right blend of chewiness, sweetness, full flavor and fiber that would really quiet those hunger pangs while boosting energy.

Finally…success! She could provide her clients with the ultimate snack, in a humble first-generation version that came packed in a small plastic baggie with a homemade label.

What began as a need to provide her clients, family and friends with a snack that was tasty and nutritionally perfect took off from there. Today, KeriBars are still a true labor of love—but they have hit the big time! We are proud to present (how many) KeriBar flavors available to you. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
